Friday Love

My cousin introduced me to the photography of Jodie Andrews. These are a couple of my favorites, taken from the Personal section of her website.

Daisies - the friendliest flower! Photographed by here by Hilda Grahnat

I love this sketch. It's so detailed, without being detailed at all.

Finally, this is a pretty great song found via Today's Letters. Someone please come serenade me on my porch! I mean, I don't actually have a front porch, but you get the idea.

Seneca Crane. Easily my favorite part of the Hunger Games movie. At least, it's the part that I most easily remember loving.

Hipster jokes. Especially hipster jokes that relate to other things I love.

This fantastic song which I found here on this pretty spectacular tumblr that I highly recommend you check out.

Friday Love

First, I love that I'm finally going to see The Hunger Games tonight!

I finally finished watching Arrested Development a couple weeks ago. So, of course, I love this.

Kevin Max. I'm pretty sure his is my favorite voice ever. Unfortunately, I don't always like his style of music, but whatever. This particular song is a cover of Bob Dylan's When He Returns. So good.

There's also this song, which I mentioned a couple weeks ago, but you really should listen to it again

Finally, don't you just want to spend all day here?

Sliders. I used to watch this show growing up. I'm so glad I can watch it on Netlflix, now!

This magical photograph.

Reading. School made me forget how much I love to read.

Friday Love

I love the south! I've been visiting my old college in Tennessee and it is so beautiful! I love the mountains. I also love spending mornings sitting outside on a porch and sipping coffee.

This amazing song by Jakob Dylan.

I love old suspense movies. These are the ones I've been dying to watch lately (get it?).

Dial M For Murder

The Shining

What are your favorite suspense movies?

Love,
Scout

P.S. Did you see Psych's take on The Shining? Talk about brilliant!

Friday Love

Summer summer summer! I cannot wait for warm weather.

I want to spend a week at the beach, and then a week having bonfires at a cabin in the woods. What do you want to do this summer?

Friday Love

Bernadette Peters, the Muppets, and this song.
You can watch the Jim Henson memorial service version below. It's very beautiful.

This documentary is my new favorite. I grew up watching the Muppets - The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, and Fraggle Rock - so it was so wonderful to watch this documentary. I've added "meeting the Muppets" to my bucket list. Anyway, I never even liked Elmo before watching this.

Umm...Let's just continue the theme here. You guys need to watch this video, just for the first song. This is the puppeteers singing some of Jim Henson's favorite songs. The first one immediately became my favorite, too.

P.S. The song at about five minutes in? That's a poem by Winnie the Pooh author, A.A. Milne.
P.P.S. I like how some of them look like their puppets.

I really didn't intend to have a Muppet themed post, but since it's already looking that way, I might as well say that these are the Muppets I love most. (Note: I prefer the older Gonzo to the newer one).

Trivia:
Did you know that this song was originally going to be the Sesame Street theme song?
Did you know that Michael Jackson sued Sesame Street because they did a parody of The Beatles' Let It Be (parody found here), which Jackson owned the rights to?

Okay, I'll be done now.

These hilarious pictures. Poor Ryan Gosling - what an awkward life.

Finally, this beautiful song that's going to be part of the Hunger Games soundtrack. I'm so excited!

Friday Love

Even though they already messed up the mockingjay pin, I'm still pretty stoked (ha) about the Hunger Games movie (trailer here). The Peacekeepers look exactly like I thought they would.

Pretty pictures.

A pretty poem.

I love this song. It's so much fun. I wish I could have found the music video for you - it's funny.

The Hunger Games trilogy. I bet you had no idea.

Side note: After looking at photos of the Hunger Games cast, I'm kind of nervous about it. What do you guys think?

Simon & Garfunkel. I can hardly stop listening to them lately. I've only interrupted their music for 80s hits. This is the song I've most recently fallen in love with.

I also love that, on his website, Art Garfunkel has a list of every book he's read since 1968. I think I'm going to start one this year.

This lovely photograph found at Selby.

My favorite line from The Jerk.

Sorry there's not more this week - things have just been hectic. I should hopefully be all set for this week, though!

Friday Love

I love Nancy Drew mystery games. I think they are so much fun. I'm also really bad at them, so I generally end up cheating at some point...And, wouldn't you know it, I can't seem to find my Nancy Drew mystery games...Go figure.

Check out these awesome illustrations, found here. The first two have puns that go with them. Can you figure them out? Oh. That's another thing I love - a good pun :)

Some pretty black and white prints.

A marvelous comic from Doghouse Diaries.

Love,
Scout

P.S. The puns were "Mountain Biking" and "Paperbag Writer". Or maybe those aren't puns, but I don't know what else they would be, so deal.
