A quiet house. Early mornings. Dew drops. Not having a book to read (I'm going crazy here!). Package swap. A new phone. Cats. Eating Crabs with my grandparents. Bookbinding. Engagements (not mine) and exciting plans for the future.
On Monday I went to the National Zoo with some friends. It was pretty spectacular. My favorite part was the great cats exhibit. The lions were roaring - kind of. It sounded like a low growl and bark, like some dogs do. Either way, it was still awesome. We also got to watch them eating rabbits! Don't worry, it wasn't as gruesome as it sounds.
Apparently there are lots of animals on and around my family's property (see here and here).
This is a toad.
I went outside one evening to watch the rain. The sky was a funny yellowish color, so I grabbed my camera to snap a few photos. I ran back inside to put my camera away, then went back outside to continue watching the rain - I love rain. As soon as I stepped out the door, I saw this toad. I went back in for my camera and carefully edged toward the toad to take his picture. He was so calm! I was about four inches away from him, and he didn't move the whole time.
I have to admit, I was a little afraid when taking this photograph. This is when I was closest to him, and I figured if he jumped, there was a good chance it'd be right on my head - not a pleasant thought.
I'm not much of an animal person, but these are some of the pets I might want, if I could afford it. I left out ordinary house cats because...I'm going to have one.
They are listed in order of least to greatest.
6) Owl. But my mom pointed out that barfing up what they ate is a daily habit of theirs, so...I think I changed my mind.
