Artist Spotlight: The Paper Kites

I discovered this band last week sometime, from someone's blog or something. I don't remember.
The Paper Kites have a light, folksy sound with good harmonies. I am always a fan of good harmonies. And they're all fairly attractive, don't you think?
I have definitely been playing this band on repeat since I discovered them. Their music is similar to that of The Honey Trees and Bon Iver, though more upbeat. I hope you like them!

Check out their Myspace and Facebook.

A Day In The Life

Finger puppets. Obviously, the second Minion is much better than the first. Practice makes perfect.

Coffee, ice cream, and a few drops of peppermint extract. Marvelous.

Mum's the Word

Today we have Howard Shore, known for composing the music in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. He's done the music for many other movies, one of the more important being his work on the 90's film, That Thing You Do. Yeah, guys. Howard Shore is big time.

Check out his website.

Friday Love

I love Thanksgiving! I get to spend it with my amazing family and we eat crazy delicious foods. Everyone in my family is a great cook, so...it's kind of awesome.

I also love these pretty things.

On my Mind

Here are two things that I can't help but keep repeating.

1. Super cute song by Landon Pigg, featuring Mae Whitman, or Amber from Parenthood.

2. This video is so awesome. And only nine seconds long!

Mum's the Word

Today we have Joe Hisaishi, known for composing the music in the brilliant movie Howl's Moving Castle (also a book - check it out at your local library!). He also composed the music for many other Hayao Miyazaki films.

Check out Hisaishi's website.
