DIY Blog Inspiration Journal

Recently I have been brainstorming my blog - what I want my blog to be, what I don't want it to be, finding random tips online, and pondering new ideas. I also acquired Elsie's Blog Love, which has been a great thought provoker. Anyway, in order to keep my thoughts somewhat organized, I put together this little inspiration notebook. It's so handy! I highly recommend making one for yourself - for anything you might want inspiration in. Just fill it with whatever inspires you!

Here's what you need:

And, of course, a handy dandy notebook! My friend made this one for my birthday last year. I saved it until I found the perfect use for it :)

Instructions:
Take your notebook and FILL IT! If you read helpful tutorials online, write their advice in your notebook. Write blog post ideas, what you like/dislike about blogging, what kind of blogger you aspire to be, and how you plan to achieve your goals. Make a list of blogs you love to read and why - to help remind you of what you love about blogging.

Include inspiration and colors.

Make a list of inspiration posts - things you can fall back on. Mine are specific enough to be helpful, but generic enough to allow for variety - for example, quotes, poetry, memories, lists, favorites, etc.

Throw in helpful reminders and  quotes - make them stand out from the page by writing them on washi tape or writing it in a small card and pasting it in your notebook.
I found this quote in this post by Oh Sweet Joy.

I stapled some pages inside a mini card to make a mini-book for one of my lists.

To make lists more colorful, highlight every other one with a different color.

Use bright colored washi tape or fun paper to headline different pages.

Include more inspiration and colors.

Do you already have an inspiration notebook? I'd love to see it!

Love,
Scout

I have one that's strictly clothes, but I've been wanting to try out "art journaling", which is basically the same thing as this. Yours looks so good, maybe I'll give it a shot today!

Yeah, after working on this, I realized that art journaling probably isn't as difficult as I think it is.

I used to make my own magazines when I was little... I think I should go back to doing it so I can get some blog inspiration mojo going! Thanks for the idea!

Oh this looks so rad! I wish I would be good at this so I could do it as well, it's not only very useful, it's so pretty!

Thanks so much, Dorien! I was actually surprised mine came out as good as it did - well, that and I didn't post too many of the ugly pages :)
Anyway, once I started, I came up with more and more ideas to add to my notebook. It was a lot easier than I expected it to be! I think it was really helpful that I absorbed some inspiration before starting - reading helpful blogs and whatnot.

Such a great idea!!! I have a blog ideas folder on my computer, but I always forget about it - I think having a hardcopy would be much more useful - not to mention prettier!

And more fun!
