DIY: Wine Glasses to Drinking Glasses.

This is yet another project I've found on Pinterest. Let me tell you, it's the coolest one I've seen yet.

Materials: Pretty wine bottles, nail polish remover, yarn, scissors, and a sink (not shown).

First, take pieces of yarn and wrap them around your wine bottles about seven times each. Tie them in a tight not and then slip off the wine bottles.

Place the yarn in a small dish of nail polish remover and let it soak for a few minutes. While the yarn is soaking, fill your sink with enough cold water to cover your wine bottle when you lay it in there later.

Put the yarn back around your wine bottle, rinse any nail polish remover off of your hands, then grab a match and light the yarn on fire. Hold the bottle horizontally and turn it slowly so the fire goes evenly around the yarn.

After a while the fire will burn out. Immediately place your bottle in the cold water and, if all goes according to plan, the bottle will separate.

Finally, sand the top edges of your glass (a very fine, wet sander works best), wash your glass, and enjoy the beverage of your choice!

Remember, you are literally playing with fire. The nail polish you are using will catch fire, so if you spill nail polish all over your counter or your clothes, you run the risk of setting those on fire, too. Be careful!

Awww...everything ALMOST went as planned.... Put the Bottle in cold water and.......nothing. :( not even any cracks or discoloration...simply...nothing.

The same thing happened to me at first. I think I fixed it by either making the water colder, or adding more yarn so the fire was on the bottle longer.
