Friday Love
First, I love that I'm finally going to see The Hunger Games tonight!
I finally finished watching Arrested Development a couple weeks ago. So, of course, I love this.
Kevin Max. I'm pretty sure his is my favorite voice ever. Unfortunately, I don't always like his style of music, but whatever. This particular song is a cover of Bob Dylan's When He Returns. So good.
There's also this song, which I mentioned a couple weeks ago, but you really should listen to it again.
Finally, don't you just want to spend all day here?

Playlist, Shop Update, To-Do List
I have been crazy productive today! I finished some shop items, photographed a ton of items, then edited and listed items. This is my to-do list:
I've also been listening to this random collection of songs pretty much non-stop.
Finally, here's some of what I added to my shop. Three more days to support ANTI-trafficking! Check it out here.

Help Support Anti Trafficking
Hey, guys. I just wanted to make a quick note about my shop. This month I'm donating half of the money I receive to an anti trafficking fund. I'd really appreciate it if you'd help me out. If you're interested, click here. Remember, there's only four days left! I'll also be adding new items tomorrow, so lots of sewing tonight!

Artist Spotlight: Benjamin Francis Leftwich
Thank you, Today's Letters, for always introducing me to amazing music.
Check out his website - and while you're there, stop by the free music section for a free download of some of Benjamin's covers!

Photo taken from his website.
Benjamin Francis Leftwich, or Benjamin Sandwich, for those of us that apparently can't read, is a musician from York. His voice is similar to M. Ward's, only softer. His music is light and somewhat folky. It's very relaxing, but not the kind that puts you to sleep. I highly recommend you check out his music.Check out his website - and while you're there, stop by the free music section for a free download of some of Benjamin's covers!

Busy
Oh my goodness, y'all. Normally, I lead a pretty boring life. Lately, though, it feels like everything is happening at once. I think it's this year. First, opening my online store - which I love. Then, reading on a regular basis - another thing I love. In fact, today I finished reading Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close for the second time in a month. Third, I went to TN. It was a short visit, but it felt like a huge event. Fourth, I've been sick, which is exhausting and it makes everything feel like an eternity. Fifth, I finally got a real job! I went to job training today, and finished filling out an application for the second job I'm hoping to get. Anyway, after several days of being exhausted, it was nice to come home, drink tea, sew, and watch You've Got Mail with my grandma. I like my life.

Snapshots
I started working on the regular Snapshots post, and then I realized...I didn't really do anything this week. I spent a decent part of the week being sick, which meant sleeping almost all day every day. Everything else that happened this week was coming home from Tennessee, and finding various animals around our house and property, which I've already talked about. So, here's the few pictures of the rest of my week.
Homemade mac & cheese. It was kind of sucky. I'm not good at making up recipes for mac & cheese.
Laying on a mattress in the middle of my living room (don't ask) and watching NCIS.
She looks evil, but she was just sleepy.
Homemade applesauce

Sunday Morning.
These are the songs I listened to (over and over) while getting ready for church this morning. They're pretty awesome, so I thought I'd share them with you :)

Yesterday a Cow, Today a Mouse
Somehow, my grandparents managed to catch a teeny tiny, inch-long mouse. I don't think I've ever seen anything so cute. But, I also think regular sized mice are pretty cute (although once they get past, I dunno, three inches, is when they start to be gross). Anyway, we put it in a bucket, fed it some cheese and oats - it really liked the cheese, and then I walked it down the road some to release it. I wouldn't leave, though, so I ended up walking away to let it calm down some and leave when it felt safe.

P.S. Anyone going to see The Hunger Games tonight?
This little guy was about half the size of my thumb.

My New Favorite Meal
Normally I share recipes on my other blog.
This recipe, however, is special, so I wanted to share it here.
I found the recipe here, on My New Roots. I had recently decided that poached eggs are a favorite of mine, so it didn't take long for me to love this recipe, too. The first time I made it, I used white onions instead of red, and caramelized them with butter and sugar instead of coconut oil and salt. I also used frozen spinach, because it's what we had, and I forgot to add the chili flakes.
It was still delicious.
Since then, I've made it several times and left out different ingredients each time. I've even had it with just eggs and sweet potatoes. I actually might like it best that way, because I like those two flavors the most, even though I love onions. It's also much easier if you only do those two ingredients.
Note: When poaching eggs, it is important that you use 1 Tbs. of vinegar! This keeps your egg together and your pan less messy.
I'd love to know what you think, if you try it!

The Day A Cow Got Into Our Yard
Today one of our neighbor's cows got loose in our yard. My mom suggested I go out and lure it back to its home. Ha. I did, however, get my camera to go take pictures. I wasn't going to, except that our horses were freaking out when they saw the cow, and I couldn't miss pictures of that.
When I went down to take pictures of the cow, he (she?) started following me. I was slightly afraid that it would decide I was a threat and charge at me, but it didn't. Which is great, too, because I think I would have had a heart attack. I don't think I was as scared of the cow as the horses were, though. They were all grouped together watching it.

Artist Spotlight: Guns N Roses
Guns N Roses is a rock band that originated in California in 1985, with Axl Rose as lead singer and the legendary Slash as lead guitarist. Apparently the band is still active (though Axl is the only original member), but I haven't heard anything new about them...well, ever.
Anyway, they have some pretty cool music. Theirs is probably the hardest music that I've listened to and actually enjoyed. Axl Rose has this incredible screamy voice that I really can't describe, but love. They are also responsible for my favorite song of all time, Sweet Child O Mine.
Here's a taste of some of their other music.
Check out their website.
