I found this photo on Pinterest a long time ago (the original can be found here and here) and finally decided that I needed to try it. This is my attempt:
I have been using a lot of embroidery thread lately when making my felt clutches. Before, I just kind of tossed all of my thread together so it got tangled easily and required lots of digging around to find a piece that was just the right size. I realized that, if I'm going to keep sewing so often, then I really need to be more organized. So one evening when I really did not feel like being productive, I did this, instead.
It's the perfect task to do while listening to a book on tape or watching a movie. Or maybe watching the first season of Downton Abbey on Netflix. Anyway, the point is, this is the task you do when you don't really want to do anything - because it's helpful and really should be done (if you're super unorganized, like me), and it's easy.
Now I just need to figure out where to put all the clothespins...
Love,
Scout

I love pinterest for that. I always find such good ideas. Also, it is like an organizer for the dIY projects I find around the internet.
great idea!
Thanks, Kristin! I only wish I could claim it as my own :)
Explorers - it definitely is! I just have to try really hard to actually do some of them instead of constantly pinning new projects.
haha. Yes. I've pinned so many things I want to try. I should make it a goal to try at least one a month...
btw. loving your blog. i discovered it while at jessi's house. it has inspired me to give mine another try.
Wow, hey, this is the perfect idea!! Thanks for sharing, I will definitely do this myself! I have been a bit frustrating about all my embrodery threads just lying around and the packing with the color's number on it always disappears...
First time visiting your blog, but I will definitely visit again :)
Have a nice day!
Elisabeth - Thanks! I really hope it works for you! Since mine was all tangled before, this has made it so much easier to find the exact color I want.
Can't wait to hear from you again! :)
