Have I mentioned how much I love summer? It's about the only thing I can think lately - I just love summer.
Anyway, one of the things I really wanted to say was, I'm so losing motivation when it comes to photography. I mean, I love photography - I could take pictures of everything all day. Lately, though, I've just felt disappointed with my photographs. I think it's because I'm using the manual setting, so then when a picture looks bad it's my fault, not the camera's.
Do you guys ever feel that way? How do you find your motivation again? And do you have any tips to share on improving photography skills? I feel like I'm lacking in those lately.
On a lighter note, here is some great summery music. It's by Jonsi (did you know he was in Sigur Ros? Yeah, me neither). Some of it is from the movie We Bought a Zoo, which you definitely need to see. Seriously, it's one of my new favorites.

1. LOVE the movie We Bought A Zoo, and the soundtrack is amazing. I made Jeff listen to it while we drove from Mobile to Atlanta last weekend.
2. I know exactly how you feel, and trust me, every photographer feels the same way. I don't think it every really goes away, but I also think it's a good thing. Keeps you humble, keeps you pushing forward and improving your skills. Sometimes it helps to take a break. Put the camera down for a few days, don't think about it and give your mind a break. I think you'll find you'll have a fresh perspective.
Also, create a photo project for yourself. Something that will challenge you and force you to use your camera in new ways. Maybe create a series?
Hmm...Thanks, Sarah! I'll be pondering what kind of series I could do. I do need some new perspective, that's for sure.
I watched that movie on one of the plane rides :) loved it and the music was the best part (worst part was the passionate hug between Elle Fanning and the boy :P)! I'm happy more Americans will probably find out about Jonsi and consequently Sigur Ros through the movie. They're so good.
Oddly enough...1) I didn't mind the "love" scene with the thirteen year olds, and 2) I like Jonsi but not Sigur Ros.
